mindful yoga mini retreat
– releasing tension, finding ease

Saturday 21 February 2026 – 2:00pm-4:30pm

“I left with a warm glow feeling restored and restful.”

In this workshop we’ll explore and experience how yoga, mindfulness and somatics can help us to remember what our bodies have forgotten. And to (re)learn how to release, relax and experience a greater sense of ease.

Taking the Somatic approach means that we slow down and drop deep inside. It’s a practice that works from the inside out. By awakening or reconnecting with this internal awareness, we’re using the brain to take control of the body. It’s a bit like rewiring from the inside out so that we can make changes at a deep neuromuscular level.

We shine a light on the whole of our experience and find nourishing ways to repattern those well-worn habits that don’t serve us well.   And this isn’t only how we move or hold our bodies. It also speaks to the mental, emotional and energetic parts of ourselves.

Soma’ means the living body in all its glorious wholeness. Even – or particularly – when that body feels neither glorious, nor whole. The movements tend to be low and slow, in order to feel safe, to be fully present so we can start to find and change what needs changing

The somatics and yoga will be interwoven with some still meditation and mindfulness practices. Come and experience the simple and profound effects of this lovely practice in a warm and friendly space.

No experience of yoga, somatics or mindfulness is needed. This is the perfect opportunity give it all a try.

The workshop is standalone, but is also designed as a partner to the April ‘Supporting and Strengthening the Core’ workshop, so why not book on to both and save £10.

Or book this workshop for you and a friend and save £10.

In person at The Yoga Rooms, £45 each or 2 places for £80

  • Want to prevent injuries and address those niggles that keep coming back?

Come and experience how yoga can:
  • improve your posture meaning you’ll run taller and more smoothly
  • ease tension and help correct imbalances reducing the chances of injury
  • build strength in often-neglected areas (feet, ankles, glutes, core) – all crucial for stability and power
  • develop your body awareness (proprioception) to improve balance and resilience in all terrains
  • aid your breathing to increase stamina and endurance
  • equip you with techniques for dealing with race-day nerves
  • bring a greater sense of flow, mindfulness and fun to your running
The workshop is suitable for all runners, whether you’re at the beginning of your Couch to 5k journey or you’ve just won the Manchester Marathon. And you don’t need to have ever done a downward dog before.
Together, in a warm and friendly space, we’ll explore all the ways you can enjoy your running, for longer.

A wonderful way to spend a Saturday afternoon.”

This whole mind and body mini-retreat will bring our attention to the centre of the body, particularly the deep muscles that support the spine and the pelvis.

Traditional ‘core’ work often works on a superficial level that only serves to tighten and even exacerbate pain and tension. So here, we’ll take a deep dive to explore how we can balance and strengthen our centre to improve our posture, movement and alignment to reduce wear and tear on all parts of the body and to cultivate lifelong healthy joints and muscles.

The somatics and yoga will be interwoven with some still meditation and mindfulness practices – all wrapped up in a warm and welcoming package, making for a fun and enlivening afternoon.

This workshop is standalone, but is designed to build on the February ‘Releasing Tension, Finding Ease’ workshop, so why not book on to both and save £10.
