This relaxing yoga and mindfulness mini-retreat will include yoga, mindfulness and somatics practices to support free up and relax your body and calm your mind. Take home some new strategies to bring a bit more joy into the day-to-day.

We are bombarded with ideas of what will and should make us happy and content. This usually prioritises and values the the big stuff: based on rarity (not ordinariness); price (cheap = meh, expensive = literally valuable); and scale (big plans and dramatic changes rather than tiny shifts).

This afternoon of gentle movement, meditation and mindfulness will challenge this and give you the time and the space to seek out and nurture the small pleasures of your life.  We’ll bring this quietly radical idea to how we feel about and choose to move our bodies, how we breathe, how we think and how we make (small and big) decisions.

How much do we dwell on what we don’t like about our bodies (and what feels uncomfortable, clunky, inflexible), rather than all of the ordinary and wonderful ways that our bodies support us? Here, we’ll take the time to celebrate ourselves for exactly what we are.

All equipment is supplied, so you don’t need to bring anything unless you prefer to have your own kit with you. Please wear something that you can be comfortable moving around in and layers to add for the stiller, meditation sections.

Suitable for all levels, beginners and returners are welcome.

An afternoon of gentle movement, meditation and mindfulness to stabilise the mind and body.

This relaxing yoga and mindfulness mini-retreat will include yoga, mindfulness and somatics practices to support and nourish your mind and body.

How much of your day do you spend not really ‘here’? Distracted, on autopilot, dwelling on the past and planning for the next thing? This mindful yoga mini-retreat offers you the time and space to fully arrive in the body, in the breath and in the present moment. We’ll also explore why this is a good idea for our wellbeing.

Using yoga and somatic movement we’ll get grounded in the body. Finding a rooted connection with the earth gives us the stability and foundation to develop greater freedom and lightness in the joints and the muscles.

Interwoven through the afternoon will be accessible breathwork and meditation to settle and ground us mentally and emotionally, to bring us to the present moment and to ‘being’.  There’ll be simple techniques and ideas to take away and try out in the rest of your life.
